Hilsea Lido Pool for the People are very pleased to announce that they take ownership of Hilsea Lido and the Blue Lagoon from noon on Friday 3 September 2010, following an asset transfer agreement with Portsmouth City Council and the signing of a 99 year lease.
Work to improve the Blue Lagoon and create a Centre of Excellence for Watersports at Hilsea Lido will continue.
This is a community owned project and you’re welcome to get involved.
First General AGM – 20th September 2010
We had our first annual general meeting on 20th September 2010, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended. There have been some changes to both the Trustees and Committee Officers and we are pleased to welcome some new faces.
Officers of the Trust
Chairperson: Sabrina Richards is the architect of the vision for the Hilsea Lido Revival and a multitasking builder of networks and support.
Vice-Chairperson: Helen Downing-Emms is the voice of our facebook page with a wealth of experience in catering, education and training and human resources. Helen has been major player in the organisation
Treasurer: Andy Goodall kindly took in the role of Treasurer in 2009 when no-one else wanted to and he has done a great job. Andy is a chief engineer who can’t wait for the real work to begin!
Assistant Treasurer: Maggie Ballard was the organiser of this year’s successful fun day.
Company Secretary: Des Callow is a recent convert to lido lifestyle. He has knowledge and experience in tax and project planning and was this year’s carnival king!
Membership Secretary: Lauren Hill is our marketing specialist who organised our first open-air concert ‘Live at the Lido’ in May.
Minutes Secretary: Stella Hogan has done a fantastic job as minute’s secretary and we are very pleased that she will remain in this role.
